Michelle Pourciau Featured by COMTO DC, Reflecting on Nearly 40 Years of Transportation Leadership and Community

December 1, 2025 | Washington, DC

Michelle Pourciau, Founder and President of MP Synergy, LLC and former Director of both the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT), was recently featured by COMTO DC as part of its spotlight on longtime members and their continued impact within the transportation industry.

For Pourciau, the recognition reflects a relationship with the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) that spans nearly four decades—and has followed her through nearly every chapter of her career.

Pourciau first joined COMTO because of its commitment to ensuring equal access to opportunities throughout the transportation industry. Over the years, that membership grew into a professional community that remained constant as her career evolved from more than 20 years of service with the District Government, to leading transportation agencies in Washington, DC and Baltimore, to serving as Vice President of two architecture and engineering firms and working across the country.

Through each transition, Pourciau maintained connections with COMTO chapters nationwide while continuing to call the DC Chapter home.

“COMTO has felt like a welcome home for me,” Pourciau shared in the feature.

Her longstanding relationship with the organization has included professional development, networking, mentorship, relationship-building, and national recognition. Among the milestones she reflected on was being recognized as one of COMTO's Women Who Move the Nation—an honor she described as a highlight of her career.

Today, Pourciau continues to see COMTO as an important resource for both established and emerging transportation professionals. Looking toward 2026 and beyond, she highlighted the organization's role in creating opportunities to build and maintain meaningful professional relationships, expand opportunities, and support continuous learning.

The feature comes during a particularly meaningful year for the organization, as transportation professionals from across the country gathered in Washington, DC for COMTO's 55th National Meeting & Training Conference.

For Pourciau, the moment represents more than recognition of a distinguished career. It reflects the professional community, relationships, and shared commitment to transportation that have accompanied her for nearly 40 years—and continue to shape the work she does today as Founder and President of MP Synergy, LLC.
